Going digital? Check out Visual Edge 2000
Sunday, April 30, 2000 | by
If you or your newspaper are contemplating the jump from film to digital cameras, or you wish to stay on top of the latest developments in digital photojournalism, you may wish to attend Visual Edge 2000 in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The July 23-28 event, staged by the NPPA and The Poynter Institute, is broken down into two tracks: an intensive 6 day workshop, and a traditional conference stream. Digital camera speakers and trainers this year include Reed Hoffmann, former staff photographer at the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and now digital consultant and freelance shooter, as well as Beth Reynolds, a St. Petersburg-based documentary photojournalist who is currently shooting an extended project on nothing but digital.

Registration fees jump US$100 after June 20. For more information, check out the Visual Edge 99 website (the Visual Edge 2000 site is light on details right now), contact the NPPA at 800-289-6772 and/or download this year's registration form.
