Data Rescue has recently updated its suite of photo recovery and card erasing tools:
Card Wiper 1.03. New in this version is the ability wipe either the logical portion of the media (the area that holds the actual data) or the physical portion (both the data and all file system bits as well). The latter function will remain the most useful when dealing with camera storage media that won't be recognized by a camera or card reader. The Windows version of the freeware program is available now; the updated Mac OS X version is expected soon (and Card Wiper 1.0.2 for Mac remains available).
Photo Rescue 220.127.116.118i. The primary or only change in this release is a multiple language interface. An impressive 17 languages are included; switching between them is done from a menu. The "i" release is currently available for Windows only, though the 6-language 18.104.22.1688 for Mac remains available. Trial versions of the US$29 Windows and Mac versions are available for download. To update from an earlier licensed version, complete the software update form. Purchase a license here.
Photo Rescue Wizard. Combine the recovery power of Photo Rescue with a simplified, step-by-step interface and you have Photo Rescue Wizard. The Mac OS X-only release is US$29, and is also available in a trial version.
