Tuesday, February 26, 2002 | by has launched DVD PhotoShow, a service designed to streamline the creation of a DVD of up to 500 still photographs that's viewable on a home DVD player. Photos are sorted into 5 user-definable chapters. Each photo is displayed, with a slow zoom effect, for 5 seconds. The finished DVD includes an index print of the photos on the DVD. Currently, the user can add titles and descriptions to the DVD, as well as select background music from a canned list. Future enhancements are to include more effects and transitions as well as the ability to control the time each photo is displayed. A DVD PhotoShow is US$50 for up to 150 photos, US$60 for up to 300 photos and US$70 for up to 500 photos. Turnaround time on finished DVDs is expected to be about 3 business days.
