Macworld: Overview of new iBook G4 laptops
Wednesday, February 25, 2004 | by Eamon Hickey

Macworld's March issue includes an overview of the new iBook G4 laptops from Apple. Reporter Henry Norr says that, in addition to the move from G3 to G4 processors, other important upgrades for this new generation are support for AirPort Extreme (802.11g), compatibility with USB 2.0, and new slot-loading optical drives. Combo CD-RW/DVD drives are now standard on all three of the new iBooks. Macworld also says the new iBooks show moderate to dramatic speed increases over their G3 predecessors, depending on the application in use.
