Data Rescue posts CF Card build quality comparison
Thursday, January 20, 2005 | by Rob Galbraith

Data Rescue, maker of Photo Rescue image recovery software, has posted an interesting comparison of CompactFlash card build quality.

The company cracked open the cases of two unnamed CompactFlash cards, then photographed the innards.

While both use Samsung flash memory, and one a Lexar controller (the card with a Lexar controller is not a Lexar brand card, says the accompanying text), one shows poor solder joints and overall haphazard assembly, while the other looks properly put together.

The small selection of photographs provide a fascinating glimpse inside the media upon which most serious and pro digital SLR shooters initially store their work.
