Photo Mechanic 4.4.1 released, ships as Universal Binary
Wednesday, February 1, 2006 | by Rob Galbraith

Camera Bits today has released Photo Mechanic 4.4.1 for Windows and Mac. Changes are detailed in the Read Me.

In what may be a pleasant surprise for recent purchasers of an Intel-powered iMac, the Mac version of Photo Mechanic 4.4.1 has shipped as a Universal Binary, which means it will run natively on both PowerPC and Intel Mac systems. Camera Bits had intended to wait until v4.4.2 to bring out an Intel-optimized version of the company's pro photo browser. But compatibility testing on the recently-released Intel-based iMacs was completed ahead of schedule, says Camera Bits President Dennis Walker, which enabled them to roll the Intel code into v4.4.1.

The Portland, Oregon-based software developer is also celebrating its 10th anniversary today.
