Lexar posts Mac-compatible UDMA 7 firmware update utility for USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader
Saturday, March 17, 2012 | by Rob Galbraith
After releasing the version for Windows last month, Lexar has now posted the Mac version of a firmware update utility, and firmware, for its Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader. The new firmware installed by the utility, v0554, adds support for the UDMA Mode 7 data timing protocol used by the company's Professional 1000X CompactFlash series to achieve the fastest possible card-to-computer transfer speeds.

The firmware itself is bundled within the utility to install it. Both the new Mac version and the previously-released Windows version are on Lexar's downloads page.
